Airbus, the world's largest commercial plane maker, is predicting a strong demand for new passenger aircraft in Korea by 2028, with air carriers expected to take some 290 planes, Richard Carcaillet, product marketing director for A380, said in a press conference.
Very large aircraft, such as the A380 superjumbo, will be preferred in the Korean market thanks to its cost-effectiveness and fuel-efficiency, he said.
In the environmental aspect, the A380 is eco-friendly as "it consumes less than three liters per 100 kilometers per passenger."
The strong demand on new aircraft is predicted with the rapidly growing passenger traffic of around 4.8 percent per year, the France-based manufacturer said.
