Malaysian Airlines is expected to increase the frequency on its Kuala Lumpur-Bangalore route gradually starting April next year to meet needs of businessmen and the tourism sector.

The national carrier is expected to increase the number of flights to five and gradually add more for flights to be on a daily basis in about a year's time, International Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Mustapa Mohamed told reporters yesterday.

He said he had been informed of the development by Malaysian Airlines, which is now flying four times a week on the route.
