Emirates appoints new regional head

One of the fastest growing airlines in the world, Dubai based Emirates has appointed Sunil Kallyat as its regional manager for the western region, the airline said in a statement on Tuesday.


The position has been specifically created by the airline to meet the growing importance of the Indian region and also to ensure better service standards.

Based out of Mumbai, Kallyat will oversee airport, cargo, engineering and commercial operations of the airliner along with commericla operations in Mumbai, Ahmedabad and Hyderabad as part of his portfolio. Emirates operates 185 flights per week from 10 destinations in India including Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Trivandrum, Kolkata, Kozhikode and Kochi.
