Air India threatens to sack pilots who do not return to work by 5 pm today
As the strike by 700 of its pilots enters its third day, Air India has warned that it will fire pilots who don't report to work by 5 pm today. The threat hasn't prompted pilots to capitulate just yet. They say they don't want to work in "such a hostile environment" - unless they get an assurance that their raises will be reviewed within a specific time period, they will not head back to office.

SpiceJet to offers new connections to Bangalore, Delhi from May 15
Flyers to Bangalore and Delhi from the city will soon have another option with low cost airline SpiceJet planning to launch daily flights to these destinations from May 15. The flight will be operated from Delhi and Bangalore and will have a halt in Nagpur in both directions.

Chandigarh airport New terminal building opens for public
Chandigarh: The new integrated terminal building at the Chandigarh Airport was thrown open to the passengers on Thursday. Equipped with escalators, a comfortable waiting area and flight information display systems, the new building is more spacious than the previous one. Though it was a soft launch for the terminal, the building will take another eight months to become fully operational.

Mumbai/New Delhi: German airline Deutsche Lufthansa's plan to introduce Airbus A380 service on the Delhi-Frankfurt route has hit an air pocket. The ministry of civil aviation has blocked Lufthansa's proposal to operate the superjumbo jet between the two cities from next month, putting the airline's route planning in jeopardy. "There is neither a yes nor a no from the ministry," said Axel Hilgers, director (South Asia), Lufthansa.
