NEWS | SilkAir to start Visakhapatnam-Singapore non-stop flight from October 28

SilkAir, the regional wing of Singapore Airlines, today announced thrice-a-week nonstop flights between Visakhapatnam and Singapore starting from October 28. 

Talking to reporters here today, General Manager ofSilkAir (India) G M Toh said that SilkAir was the first airline to provide a non-stop international air connectivity from Visakhapatnam. 

The new services would be operated with Airbus A319and A320 aircraft, featuring both business andeconomy class cabins. The flights would be operated three times a week, departing on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays with next day return flights, he said. 

"This new route will also give business travellers access to one of the most important commercial cities in India, while introducing a great sightseeing destination for the tourists," Toh said. 

He said the Visakhapatnam would be SilkAir's eighth destination in India and together with Singapore airlines' flights to six other destinations, both the airlines would now operate from 11 cities in the country. 

Toh said that SilkAir's global route network would grow to 42 destinations in 12 countries with the new connectivity to Visakhapatnam.
